Getting to Kodkod is surprisingly simple. Pucon is known as the Gateway to the Lake District, and is well supplied with buses from Santiago, and the other main cities. These range from economic and cheap, to luxury and expensive. Most are clean, but it is worth paying a bit extra for a decent night's sleep. The companies to look out for are Turbus, Buses Jac and Pullman Sur.
From Pucon, Kodkod is on the way to the thermal springs of Quimey-co, Huife and Pozones. There is a rural bus service from Calle Palguin that leaves every hour through the day. A taxi will charge about $7.000 for the 20 minute ride. There are regular minibuses to the Cañi Sanctuary. You should ask at Ecole Hosteria at the corner of Arauco with Urrutia (which is, incidentally, also a great place to eat and stay). Alternatively, give us a call (093254585) and we will look into possibilities to get you out here some other way.
Many places in Pucon offer bicycle rentals. This is a pretty good way to get around and get some fresh air at the same time.
Why not plan to drop in for lunch, or some light refreshment during your trip? We are also well placed for combining your trip to the thermal baths after which, you may be in need of an aperitif... If you are staying this side of Pucon in the summe (Jan/Feb)r, Kodkod is a great place to avoid the inevitable queue of traffic to get to the centre of town.
